Forged from the ruins of the Gateway Dominion, the Imperial Black Metal outfit ‘STORMRULER’ began as an alliance between two of the cities most hardened veterans. The bands sound consists of all the elements one should be familiar with from times past, all while consistently doing it’s part in order to move the needle forward. Combing a blistering sonic assault of blast beats and piercing shrieks to wonderous melodies and atmosphere that transport you into a different time, STORMRULER carries the torch for forward thinking Black Metal while upholding the standard to what made the sound truly great.

Distorted Sound Mag
“It’s hard to think of a band within black metal that has experienced a rise to prominence as meteoric as that of STORMRULER. Since their formation in 2019, and with only an excellent debut album in Under The Burning Eclipse under their belts, the Missouri-based duo of Jesse Schobel and Jason Asberry have managed to craft some of the best, most compelling melodic black metal of the last decade, drawing comparisons to legendary acts such as DISSECTION and DAWN in the process. The band’s latest release Sacred Rites & Black Magick may very well be one of the most anticipated black metal records of the year, and thankfully, the music that it contains more than lives up to the hype surrounding it.”

Metal Hammer UK
“With Fiercely committed new outfits like STORMRULER entering the fray, the USBM movement might well be entering it’s golden age. Or Black Age, if you will. Under The Burning Eclipse is so compelling as to claim an immediate place in any conversation regarding 2021’s top releases…”

Metal Injection
“Sacred Rites & Black Magick is simply a triumph of black metal art. In terms of its specific lineage, the most obvious influences seem to be Dissection's Storm of the Light's Bane, Dawn's Slaughtersun, Lord Belial's Enter the Moonlight Gate, and shadows of other bands like Setherial, Eucharist, The Moaning, and Throne of Ahaz. A band with good taste, applied well, is always off to a promising start.”
